Part 1: Certified Coffee Grader Course - ICE Futures Europe
The ICE soft commodities team have developed this specialised training course for potential Coffee Graders to learn the technical skills required to grade Robusta Coffee according to the 409 Coffee Contract requirements. This course acts as Part 1 of a two part process for the certification. Part 2 relates to practical grading elements that can only be undertaken on completion of Part 1. This course takes place at the ICE Grading Room facility in London - Basildon.
Please note that this course is limited to 6 places per date and places will be confirmed on a first come basis subject to meeting the experience requirement. We will be accepting applicants who can demonstrate some previous practical experience in the commodity sector. Course Content
A detailed review of the grading process covering: Sample bags, single or grouped lots, homogeneity, olfactory test, screening, defects and foreign matter on the practical grading side.
The course will also cover the requirements related to coffee grading as detailed in both the London Robusta Coffee contract and the requirements for grading covered in the ICE Futures Europe Grading and Warehouse Procedures (G&WPs).
There is a course exam provided at the end of Part 1. This needs to be successfully completed to allow progress to Part 2.
