ICE

There are four primary types of participants for ICE Futures Canada:

  1. Direct Access Trading Participants: Direct Access Trading Participants (DATPs) are entitled to trade on the facilities of the Exchange, through direct access to the Trading System, and are entitled to reduced fees. DATPs must either be Clearing Participants of ICE Clear Canada Inc., or have a Clearing Authorization and Guaranty in place.
  2. Trading Participants: Trading Participants are entitled to trade on the facilities of the Exchange, through an arrangement with a DATP in the category of FCM.
  3. Merchant Participants: Merchant Participants are entitled to register elevators and/or issue Warrants, depending on the category of registration. Merchants who want reduced fees, and/or direct access, to the Trading System must also register as a Trading Participant or Direct Access Trading Participant.
  4. Ancillary Participants: Entities with a general interest in the Exchange.
