Driving decarbonization with ETS2

ICE and Clear Blue Markets hosted a webinar on the upcoming EU Emissions Trading System 2. This new system will cover the CO2 emissions from fuel combustion in road transport and buildings. It will double the scope of the EU ETS to 80% of the economy and affect over 11,000 companies. The carbon price set by the ETS2 can provide a market incentive for investments in building renovations and low-emissions mobility.

The ETS2 will become fully operational in 2027. ICE will be launching the market’s first ETS2 futures on 6 May 2025, which will provide transparent price signals to manage risk. In this webinar we explained how the scheme works, who is affected, and discussed price drivers and forecasts.
