ICE Private Credit Reference Data

Lender-powered data and intelligence for private credit markets

Private credit reference data today is largely unstructured. Deal terms live in PDFs and data rooms, manually extracted by investors at significant cost in time, money, and accuracy. As the market has scaled, the data infrastructure supporting it has not kept pace. Without the standardized identifiers, a security master and ways to ingest or distribute deal-level data that public credit markets have long relied on, the asset class is left running on fragmented, inconsistent practices with real operational and valuation consequences.

Powered by ICE Private Credit Intelligence

ICE Private Credit Reference Data forms the foundation for offerings from ICE Private Credit Intelligence - the industry-wide initiative through which ICE and Apollo are building the foundational data infrastructure for the private credit market.

ICE Private Credit Reference Data closes that gap

Delivered via ICE's existing reference data infrastructure, it establishes a standard identifier (ICE ID) and uses AI with human analyst oversight to extract terms and conditions directly from underlying deal documents — improving operational efficiency and making the private credit market browsable, filterable, and comparable at scale.

Assigned from original deal documents, the ICE ID persists across every participant and every stage of the deal lifecycle — enabling consistent data and efficient workflows across the ecosystem.

Coverage across the market

Apollo, one of the world’s largest alternative asset managers, is the anchor originator for ICE Private Credit Reference Data. The platform is prepared to add additional originators in the coming months.

The private credit reference data suite

ICE Private Credit Reference Data is a structured security master for private credit, built on a permissioned, deal-level entitlements framework. Every new instrument in the dataset carries a unique ICE ID assigned at origination. This persistent ID is used across the Deal Insights, Publicly Disclosed and Permissioned datasets - so clients move from market discovery to named instrument to full terms without reconciliation.

Market discovery

Deal Insights

For the first time, analysts, strategists, and risk teams can survey the private credit market at scale without calling lenders. Anonymized, instrument-level records sourced directly from private credit participants reveal sector composition, deal sizing, maturity profiles, sub-type mix, and banded coupon rate tiers along with ICE IDs across the full universe.

Instrument identification

Publicly Disclosed

Where Deal Insights reveals patterns, Publicly Disclosed lets clients act on them. The named-instrument layer provides -ICE IDs, coupon type, debt rank, and call/put/sink terms for identified private credit instruments. Publicly Disclosed data is available for larger, more broadly distributed deals where instrument-level details have been made available by the originating lender or borrower.

Full terms, fully controlled

Permissioned

For investors and counterparties with an existing or prospective relationship with an originating partner, Permissioned delivers the complete instrument record, supporting deeper analysis, potentially reducing operational errors, streamlining workflows and enabling consistency and comparability across deals and with public markets, transforming private credit positions from operationally opaque to analytically manageable.

Delivery & integration

ICE Private Credit Reference Data is delivered via the same infrastructure clients already use for ICE’s public fixed income reference data - the same ICE Uniform Entity Sector taxonomy, the same identifier framework, the same delivery mechanisms. Private credit data that sits natively alongside the rest of the fixed income book.
